TABLE TENNIS: DARRYL Meredith was in scintillating form for Oldham Men's inter-league table tennis side last weekend.

He won all of his six matches as Oldham beat Ellesmere Port before drawing 3-3 in games against Bury and Bolton

In the Oldham and District League, last season's division two champions Wardle are finding top-flight play anything but easy after they lost 8-2 to Werneth A.

OTTC A moved into second spot in the table by way of a 9-1 victory over a depleted Hyde YM A side, while Hollinwood A were 7-3 winners at BAE B.

A key fixture in division two saw Hollinwood C shade proceedings at Rosehill B as they recorded a 6-4 success.

That was also the score by which Unison A saw off Hollinwood D to share top spot, while Honeywell A prevailed 7-3 against strugglers Pennine.

Division three brought an 8-2 success for Grotton B at Coldhurst D, giving them joint leadership of the table in the process.

Coldhurst's B team were 6-4 winners at Honeywell B. while the game between Owls A and Gilders B ended with both sides sharing the spoils, 5-5.

Division four saw the return of former Oldham Inter-League lady player Marjorie Riddle, but she could not prevent Werneth F going down 6-4 to Failsworth F.

The other two games saw Unison D edge out Werneth E 6-4 while Honeywell E recorded a 7-3 success against Failsworth E.
