Focusing on final four tie

4/ 4/2007

DIGGLE FC boss Steve Southern is gearing his players up for one of the club's biggest games on Easter Monday.

Should the Oldham outfit overcome Scholes in their Huddersfield League Barlow Cup semi-final, they will face either Wooldale Wanderers, New Mill or Mold Green in May's final at Huddersfield Town's Galpharm Stadium.

Southern said: "The players are naturally excited about the prospect of playing at the Galpharm, but there will be no talk of the final until we have dealt with Monday's semi-final.

"We have to be cautious, because our strength lies in hard work and commitment to a game plan, rather than individual skill.

"We are always confident in our own ability though, and the quarter-final win over Newsome has added to that confidence."

Last weekend, Diggle were 6-0 winners against Lepton Highlanders with Leland Mayall (four), Tom Matley and Danny Tomlinson on target.

Their seconds beat Meltham 8-1 and the thirds saw off Cumberworth 3-1.
