Bernie bolts clear

TWENTY-SEVEN Royton Road Runners members competed at Blackpool's Great North Western Half Marathon, the second event in their championship series.
Bernie Cassidy was the first Royton runner home in 1:23.36, two minutes quicker than last year, ahead of Stuart Carroll who set a personal best of 1:26.10.
Next in were Bryan Lawton (1:27.11), Dave Emanuel (1:27.23) and Bernie Goodwin (1:27.44).
