A brace of clean sweeps

DIVISION two took centre stage in the latest round of Oldham and District Table Tennis League, especially for those teams fighting against relegation.

The big winners were Unison B who defeated Uppermill B 10-0, the score by which Grotton A continued their march up the table by defeating bottom club Pennine 10-0.

The matches between Honeywell B and Coldhurst A, and Honeywell C against Hyde YMCA B, finished with both Honeywell teams winning 6-4.

Unison A took over top spot after defeating Failsworth A 9-1.

Glodwick extended their lead in division one with a 9-1 victory against Werneth B, the margin of victory enjoyed by Hollinwood A against struggling Aerospace B.

OTTC A overcame Honeywell Lane A 7-3, while there was a draw between promoted clubs Uppermill A and Hollinwood C.

In division three, Werneth D stayed in contention after a 7-3 victory against Grotton B, while leaders Gilders A saw off Honeywell Lane E 8-2.

Owls A were also 8-2 winners as they saw off Failsworth C, bottom team Gilders B also went down 8-2 against Coldhurst C, while Failsworth B moved into fourth spot after beating Unison C 6-4.

Division four leaders Coldhurst D whitewashed their F team, keeping them ahead of Owls B who were 8-2 victors against Failsworth E.

Third placed Uppermill C also won 8-2 against Coldhurst E, while the other games brought a draw between Failsworth F and Honeywell G and a 6-4 win for Werneth E against OTTC B.
