Ron is top of the secretary’s

LOCAL golf club secretaries were out in force at Bolton Old Links to play for the Manchester Alliance Secretary's Trophy.
And taking the coveted trophy back to his home club for the next 12 months was Marple's secretary Ron Hough who posted a winning 34 points.
The guest prize went to Ged Gaffey of the host club with a superb 43-pointer seeing him five points clear of Paul Heathcote of Cavendish.
It was closer in the Subsidiary competition which was won by David Antrobus of Mere whose 39 points left him two clear of Brian Hellewell (Bramhall), who beat Peter Clack of Styal on a countback.
The competition was sponsored by Suzanne Ryan of Ryan PGT, who is also a sponsor of the popular GMWN Trophy competition.
