Rangers stage Ideal home exhibition

SADDLEWORTH Rangers recorded their fifth consecutive win when they defeated Ideal Isberg 20-12.

Tries from Paul Iberson (two) and Kevin Fitzpatrick, plus a Fitzpatrick goal, gave them a 20-0 lead at half-time.

Michael Rowe's try and Jonn Horton's goal made it 20-0 before Ideal replied with two converted tries.

Poor finishing cost Waterhead dearly as they went down 16-8 at Bradford Dudley Hill.

Two Paul Joyce tries had given them an 8-0 lead, but tries from Neil Wall and Alex Dickenson, both goaled by Wall, gave the hosts a 12-8 lead at half-time.

The second half remained scoreless until six minutes from time when a converted try sealed victory for Dudley Hill.

Hollinwood emerged victorious 24-14 at Stainland Stags.

The home side won the toss and elected to play downhill in the first half, helping them build a 14-6 lead at half-time as Hollinwood's points came by way of Alistair Williams' try and goal.

In the second half, Hollinwood looked to be on the way to another defeat until Mick Wilson crashed over for a try goaled by Williams.

That saw Hollinwood push hard, resulting in Williams' second try which he also converted.

Hollinwood were well on top by now as the hosts began to tire, Ian Hunt crossing for their final try which Williams also converted.

Higginshaw beat Wigan Keepers 12-4 victory in a match overshadowed by Kris Richards' double fracture to the right leg.

Matthew Jackson and Michael Smith scored their tries, Gareth Brindley adding a goal and penalty.
