Town are taken apart

25/10/2006

ROYTON Town were beaten 5-0 by Wythenshawe Amateurs.

They had their chances in a first half which saw Ammies take an 18th minute lead.

The visitors doubled their lead in the first minute of the second half, but Town wasted a chance to cut the deficit immediately when Terry Jennings' penalty went over the bar.

That proved the turning point of the game as Ammies scored three further goals.

Jennings tried hard throughout the game to give Town the upper hand, while Phil Hulme was unlucky with a couple of chances.

Town's second team also slumped to defeat, going down 6-0 at Irlam, while the youth side lost 1-0 to Seedfield Sports.
