Manchester league duo both take points

18/10/2006

ROYTON Town climbed off the bottom of the Manchester Football League's Premier Division by securing three points with a 2-1 win against Stockport Georgians.

Town went behind in the 24th minute, but it was no surprise when substitute Phil Hulme equalised in the 68th minute.

Town now took charge of the game and were able to claim all three points when Jason Titterington scored after great play from Terry Jennings.

The seconds were beaten 3-2 by Georgians' thirds in the League Cup, their goals coming via Andy Eastwood and an own goal.

Hollinwood continued their good run of form in the Premier Division of the Manchester League with a 5-2 win over local rivals Avro.

They were in control from the first minute and soon opened up a 3-1 lead with a double from Alan Becket and one from Ryan Simionardis.

Beckett completed his second hat-trick of the season during the second half, while Hollinwood's tally was finished off by Chris Cotton.

The reserves drew 1-1 against Whitworth Valley, Mickey Booth with their equaliser.
