A Shield shocker

ROYTON Town exited the Lancashire Amateur Shield at the second round stage after losing 2-0 at home to Barrow-based Dalton United.
Town lost to two first half goals, the second of which was a superb strike fit to win any game, as they could not convert their chances into goals.
Debutant Anthony Jones covered every blade of grass for Town with his tireless display, and was most unfortunate to be on the losing side.
Town's second team lost their match at Chapel Town by the odd goal, but the youth team gained their first win of the season with a 4-0 victory at Roach Dynamos B.
