Lacrosse club’s promotion hopes

OLDHAM Lacrosse Club are looking to make waves when the new Men's North of England League starts on Saturday.

The Broadbent Road outfit have three senior teams which play in the league, with the club's first team looking to win promotion.

Oldham host Norbury in their opening division two match, the club's A team are away to Mellor B in division four, while the B team visit Stopfordians in division five.

Meanwhile, their two junior teams will be looking to taste success in the Boy's North of England Junior League.

The under-16s start the season at home to Timperley B on Saturday (10am), while the under-12s face Brooklands Hulmeians B and Rochdale.

A club spokesman said: "Everyone is looking forward to the season. We hope it will be successful, both for our junior and senior teams."
