Magpies swoop for league title

THE Saddleworth Ladies Rounders League completed this season's action as Shaw Magpies took the title with victory over defending champions Team Tag.
An entertaining match, which saw both teams level after the first innings, was turned on its head when England international Rachel Hurst limited the champions to zero score with their second bat.
That left Shaw requiring half a rounder to secure the league, which they did on their way to a 11.5-3.5 win, giving them five points and Team Tag one.
The day's other games saw Saddleworth (six points) beat Farrars (none) 13.5-10, while Team Tag collected six points from both of their wins against Farrars (14.5-8) and Uppermill (23.5-6.5).
