Chasing teams close in on leaders

DIVISION one pacesetters Friezland A and George and Dragon both had the week off as the latest round of Tameside Ladies Bowling League fixtures were played.
That saw Stamford Park close the gap on the front two with victory over Stoneleigh Park, while there were wins for Tintwistle at Lime Street, Royton Park over Fitzroy and Saddleworth against Diggle.
St Pauls' win over King Georges keeps them top of division two ahead of Lowes Arms, winners over Riverside.
Elsewhere, Cedar Park A, Norths and Cedar Park B were victorious against Victoria Park A, Etherow and Uppermill respectively.
Dukinfield Park A head division three thanks to victory over Stalybridge Rec, while second-placed Stalybridge Labour prevailed against Soroptimists.
The other games brought victories for Friezland B over Woodley and Manor Park at Victoria Park B.
