THIS Sunday (2nd) 60 racing cyclists from across the UK will tackle the BTN Conveyors cycle race, which is being promoted by the Oldham Century Road Club.

The 65-mile race takes place over three laps of the Denshaw - Ripponden circuit and will see the riders tackle the tough climbs of Buckstones Moss and Saddleworth Moor.

With last year's winner absent, the race favourites include Andrew Yates from Blackburn and up-and-coming star Adam Bonser who will lead the local opposition.

The race is scheduled to start at 10.30am from the Castleshaw centre in Delph, with the finish near Grains Bar expected at approximately 1pm.

Organiser Stuart Green can be contacted on 07732 306240, or alternatively email him at: stuart.green@molnlycke.com.

  • THERE will be no Oldham CTC club run this Sunday (July 2) as club members will be acting as marshals for the Oldham Century race.
