AJK going top

NEW club AJK I continued their excellent start to the Ashton and Oldham Alliance season, moving to the top of division one with a convincing 219-run victory against Newtonhurst.

Europa Exiles pulled off the shock of the day with a three-run victory against former leaders St Mary's OPC.

A run out off the last ball gave Bharat a one-run win over Levenshulme Cavaliers, while Jay Hind ended on 98-9 chasing St Anne's 158-8.

In division two, Radclyffe defeated Waterhead Methodist by 37 runs, Cane Studios were five-wicket victors at Greengate, while AJK made 127-9 chasing St Mary's HC's 138-8.

Sunday's Dukes Shield matches saw St Anne's beat Waterhead Methodist and St Mary's HC defeat St Mary's OPC.
