Duo ready for new start
26/ 4/2006
ROYTONIANS hope to get their Manchester Amateur League campaign off and running this Saturday after suffering a postponement last weekend.
Their match against Old Trafford was called off after the Lancaster Club was deemed unplayable, but officials are optimistic this week's game with Jinnah can go ahead.
On the field, Steve Webb has taken over as skipper from Russ Billing after a successful two years, while Glen Dickinson has returned to the Lake Garage CLL after making the move to Royton.
Also starting out are Woodhouses who travel to Stand under the leadership of Alan Starmer.
The club, who have Australian John Seary as their overseas man this year, are looking for sponsors to help fund new outdoor nets.
The project will cost £8,000 with £2,500 having been raised through a sponsored walk.
