Play-off place

29/ 3/2006

OLDHAM St Annes' maiden win against Wath Brow ended the Hornets' unblemished record at Red Beck Road and assured them of a place in the National Conference League Premier Division's play-offs.

Paul Ashton opened the scoring with a well-taken try and goal before he converted David Harris' try.

Although Wath Brow opened their account with a converted try and penalty, Saints extended their advantage when Michael Deakin took Jason Best's pass to score under the posts, Kiel Lancashire goaling.

The second half opened with Ashton scoring another try before Andy Sands and Andrew Wallace combined to send John Gillam away down the right flank on the hour for another try goaled by Lancashire.

Hornets hit back with two tries and a penalty before Badby broke clear to send Kevin Fitzpatrick in at the corner.
