DARRYL Meredith strolled to his third open singles title in the Deckers Restaurants Oldham Table Tennis Championships.

He overcame Mark Ramsbottom in the semi-final to beat Dave Griffith in the final after he had accounted for Siful Khan in the other semi.

Griffith featured in the latter stages of the Veterans event, accounting for Ian McLean in the semis while Ramsbottom dispatched doubles partner Andy Jackson before shading the final.

The junior event saw the top four seeds reach the semi-finals where Nathan Buckley beat Paul Carter and Adam Rowbotham overcame Rebekah Griffith to set up a repeat of last year's final. It was a similar outcome as Rowbotham won.

Meredith collected his second title of the day via the doubles event as he and McLean beat Ramsbottom and Andy Jackson.

Steve Lyons won the division one handicap event with Rowbotham winning division two, Derek Buckley division three and Bradley Dawson division four.

Werneth A are within touching distance of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League's division one title after they beat Werneth B 9-1 and BAE A drew at Hollinwood A.

Division two saw Uppermill A overwhelm Coldhurst A 10-0, Unison B's 9-1 win at Honeywell D gives them the second promotion spot in division three, while Unison D's hopes of promotion from division four suffered with a draw against Coldhurst E.
