THE remaining Glyn Webb Challenge Cup second round ties saw Church Inn triumph 5-3 at Fitton Hill Rangers, while High Crompton CC proved too strong for division three club Grasshoppers as they ran out 9-0 winners.

In the Premier Divisiion, Royton Band Club came within two minutes of beating reigning champions Orb before they were forced to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Andy Callaghan, Glyn Billington and Aron Shaw gave Failsworth three points and a 3-0 win in their game at Shaw Athletic, while Summit Inn beat Shaw 3-2 and there was a 1-1 draw between Dog Inn and 3D Dynamos.

Division one leaders White Hart extended their lead at the top as Leighton Butterworth's hat-trick helped them to a 5-2 victory at FC Paris.

The defeat was double hard to take for Paris because they also lost second place in the table thanks to Chaddy End's 4-1 victory at Parkside.

Elsewhere, Haughton Athletic beat Cayton Athletic 4-1 and Red Lion, Lees, were 4-2 victors over Boarshaw Hotel.

Hollins remained top of division two thanks to a 3-2 win over Westwood, keeping them ahead of Byron Street who are second after a 5-1 victory against Top House.

The only other game in the division saw Manor defeat Wheatsheaf 6-2.

With division three's top two not in action, Big Shorts leapfrogged Limehurst Victoria into third place after beating them 7-3.

Royton Athletic won 7-2 at Old Grey Mare, while Boundary Park were 5-0 winners against Rifle Range.
