Club’s prize performers honoured

ROYTON Road Runners members were presented with prizes at their end-of-season awards night last week.
Owen Flage took the group one honours ahead of Barry Greaves and Bernard Goodwin, Christopher Eavers was ahead of Steve Shaw and Dean Burgess in group two, while George Meynell saw off Helen Knight and Tony Hunking in group three.
Greaves took top spot in the over-40s section from Shaw and Bernard Cassidy - who recorded the best marathon time - Dave Phillips triumphed in the over-50s ahead of Eavers and Jeff Cordwell, while Deborah Shaw took the ladies event from Helen Knight and Teresa Hollins, who won the club's handicap race.
