23/11/2005

FROST again played its part at the weekend with numerous Glyn Webb Oldham Sunday League fixtures postponed.

The majority of the matches that escaped the freeze were in the first round of the Challenge Cup.

Premier Division club Summit saw off division two's Top House 5-2, Andy Eastwood with a hat-trick.

Two goals from Nuruz Zamal helped division one's Westwood put out Royton Band Club 3-2, while Lee Duffy's hat-trick helped 3D Dynamos' B team defeat Clayton Athletic 4-2.

Goals from Daniel Codling and Jason Stone saw a 1-1 draw between Boundary Park Old Boys and Parkside, while Red Star were 5-3 winners against Haughton Athletic and Chaddy End prevailed 4-2 over Old Grey Mare.

The sole division one game saw Ian Bowers and Hamza Rashed notch doubles as Red Lion, Lees and FC Paris drew 3-3.

There was a 15-goal thriller in division two, Lee Waterworth and Chris Thompson both with hat-tricks as Hollins beat Wellington 8-7.

Elsewhere, Wheatsheaf lost 4-2 to Manor, while division three saw Ashley Hamilton and Thomas Evans both at the double as Limehurst Victoria beat Rifle Range 5-1.

  • A LATE goal gave Wythenshawe Amateurs a 1-0 win against Royton Town.
