It’s three and easy for leaders

16/11/2005

Avro 3
Royton Town 1

ROYTON Town were unable to stop Manchester League Premier Division leaders Avro taking all three points from their match at the Lancaster Club.

The early phases of the match were played at a furious pace and their was nothing to split the teams as both pressed for supremacy.

Avro took first blood when Anthony Robinson pounced at the far post as Town's defence were split with a telling cross ball.

Robinson made it 2-0 on 54 minutes when Town failed to clear the ball from a corner.

Avro were now taking control as they were hoping to stretch their lead at the top.

Town fought their way back into the game with David Wilson's 35-yarder leaving the Avro keeper rooted to the spot.

The last twenty minutes were played at a frantic pace as Town went for the equaliser.

Alec Tisse settled it for Avro in injury time as they scored their third and claimed the points to keep three points clear at the top of the League.
