Recovery leaves Shaw High and dry

THE Glyn Webb Oldham District Sunday League Premier Division saw High Crompton CC have to fight all the way before three goals brought them victory against Shaw Athletic.

Summit thrashed Pine Villa Youth 6-2, Failsworth Athletic prevailed by a single goal against Royton Band Club.

Elsewhere, Alan Beckett was the star as he hit eight goals as 3D Dynamos A defeated Shaw FC 12-0.

White Hart extended their lead in division one with a 7-0 win at Boarshaw Hotel, while Chaddy End beat Red Lion, Lees 3-2.

Elsewhere, there were also wins for Church Inn and Houghton Athletic over Clayton Athletic and Parkside respectively.

The top three in division two - Byron, 3D Dynamos B and Hollins - all collected maximum points.

The other games saw Top House beat Newbold 3-0 and there was a 2-2 draw between Wheatsheaf and Wellington.

Fitton Hill stay top of division three with a 5-4 win over Old Grey Mare, while Red Star were 6-2 victors over Royton Athletic.

Big Shorts beat Rifle Ranges 11-2, while Waggon and Horses and Limehurst beat Grasshoppers and Boundary Park Old Boys.
