ROYTON Town were unable to win on their return to league action after their cup exploits of the last two weeks, losing 3-1 to Prestwich Heys.
Chris Mackay put Town in front with his 11th of the season, as they bossed the first half.
Prestwich equalised midway through the half as the game took a different curve with Heys taking control.
Prestwich scored a further two goals to wrap up the game and leave Town disappointed that they failed to take the earlier chances.
Town's reserves lost 3-1 at Springhead in the League Cup, Craig Barratt scoring their consolation.
