FOUR second-half tries saw Castleford emerge victorious from what truly was a game of two halves.

It was Waterhead who had the better of the opening period, taking a 10th minute lead when a flowing move ended with Darren Nixon scoring out wide.

Both sides then exchanged penalties before 'Head scored a second try as Terry Fitzgerald touched down and added the conversion.

Last-ditch defending from the home side prevented Waterhead adding to their tally, but unforced errors saw Panthers level the score at half-time with two tries and a goal.

A converted Neil Bennett try gave Castleford the lead before 'Head had two players sin-binned for fighting and Panthers one, leaving the local side a man down.

Panthers duly piled on the pressure, scoring three unanswered tries and saw a last-gasp Peter Pearson tackle prevent another score.
