Saint Sands stuns Wigan

OLDHAM St Anne's returned from Wigan St Jude's with the points after a 17-10 victory.

Kiel Lancashire kicked two goals as Saints trailed 10-4 early in the second half.

However, that was the signal for Saints to score two converted tries through Ryan Harley and Lancashire - following up his own chip to touch down.

An Andy Sands drop goal then gave Saints victory, just reward for a fine second-half display.

Saints' under-eights produced a good display before losing eight tries to four against Latchford Albion.

Callum Fletcher, Oliver Russell, Harry Warhurst and Brad Burgess scored their tries, while Russell was named boy of the match, Warhurst most improved player and Owen Baldwin top tackler.

Saints' under-12s lost a well-fought contest with Wigan St Cuthbert's 16-4 as handling errors saw a few opportunities go begging.

Kendal Davies scored Saints' sole try, while Ryan Bradbury and Nathan Hughes vied for the man of the match award.
