OLDHAM Century's Stuart Green was the club's first finisher at the ABC Centreville hill-climb competition last weekend.

He completed the 10-mile course in 24:12, ahead of team-mates David and Ian Short (27:44 and 28:11 respectively).

The roles were reversed the following day as Ian Short beat David Short home in Glossop Kinder Velo's Snake Pass event, finishing in 20:35 to defeat David by nine seconds.

The duo, along with Green, were in action as the Manchester district of the Cyclists' Touring Club held their Beard Cup hill-climb at Standedge Old Road, Diggle. Green finished in 5:59, David with 7:12 and Ian in 7:35.
