Tie is men against Boys

ROYTON Town reached the second round of the Lancashire Amateur Cup with an easy 5-3 win over Lancashire Amateur League club Radcliffe Boys.

Callum Frizzell, Pete Illingworth and Pete Wild had already missed opportunities before Andy Eastwood gave Royton an 18th minute lead, beating the offside trap to score.

Chris Mackay doubled the lead, slotting the ball through the keeper's legs, before Illingworth's header made it 3-0 two minutes later.

Mackay scored his second goal - his sixth of the season - from the penalty spot for the fourth goal on 34 minutes as Town led 4-0 at half-time.

They continued to take the game to Radcliffe after the break, scoring again on the hour through Gareth Brooks.

However, Royton then suffered their usual lapse in concentration and allowed Radcliffe to score three times in 10 minutes.

Their fans endured a nervous last 20 minutes before Town booked a second round tie at home to Speke AFC on October 8.

Royton's reserves drew 4-4 at Wythenshawe Town, debutant Anthony Dawson scoring all four.

Town's youth team saw Liam Buckley give them the lead before losing 4-1 in their match against Bury Juniors.
