Three-asy for Town

7/ 9/2005

ROYTON Town made it three consecutive victories in the Air Miles Manchester Football League with a 1-0 win against Monton Amateurs.

Town controlled the game for long periods as Monton rarely threatened, sealing the points with a Chris Mackay penalty.

Royton had keeper Danny Trainer to thank for the three points with fine saves late on.

The reserves saw Denny Hulme and David Wilson on target as they lost 5-2 at Heywood St James.

Town's under-18s recorded a 3-2 victory in the Bury and Radcliffe League against Rhodes Villa.

Danny Edwards-Jones netted a brace with Pete Illingworth adding the other.
