Shaun has six appeal

27/ 7/2005

ROYTONIANS are back in the top four of the Manchester League as Shaun Kenworthy led the way against Talbot on Saturday.

He made a club best 37 not out before taking 6-29 as Roytonians won by one run.

He hit 37 after Nick Fawcett had top-scored with 57 as Roytonians reached 168-8.

In reply, Nick Fawcett took 3-49 but it appeared Roytonians would be beaten with Talbot requiring six runs from the last over with two wickets in hand.

With four runs from the first four balls, Kenworthy then bowled a batsman before the last delivery was skied to the bowler.

Sunday's Gavin Whittle Memorial Trophy tie saw Roytonians bat first and make 196-5.

The elements prevented Royton from replying, but the day raised well over £1,500.
