SADDLEWORTH Golf Club ladies teams are blazing a double trail as they followed their win in the Mail on Sunday team competition with a Bell Cup success.

They moved into the first round of the 85-club event with a 7-0 whitewash of Chorlton with Dawn White, Kay Coray, Janice Nicholson, Sonia Dunn, Amme Fitton, Margo Kenny and Anita Scholes all winning.

However, Brookdale failed to join them in the last 32 as they went down 5-2 at Haydock Park.

The mens A and B teams at Saddleworth were also on form as they recorded victories in the Oldham and District League.

Brookdale A drew 4-4 with Dukinfield, but their B team lost 5-3 against their Dukky counterparts.

Domestic action at Saddleworth saw a ladies medal taken by Barbara Hopkinson with a nett 70.

Steve Harrington and Martin Heap will represent Saddleworth in the International Pairs after winning their club qualifier with a 44-point haul.

Bev Mercer and Liz Johnson won the Oldham ladies qualifier for the Lancs LGU Scott Leggatt Foursomes as they posted 72.5 to win on a cpo from Jackie Lees and Jane Antrobus.

Chris Rabbich won the Seven Cup at Crompton and Royton with a nett 65.
