THE opening round of Per-Fit Windows Saddleworth and District Cricket League matches saw four of the six games overcome Sunday's rain.

Austerlands opened their season with a 186-run defeat against Stayley who saw Hussain produce a blistering all-round display.

Having made 90 in their 240-6, Vermaak adding 67, he then took 8-26 as Austerlands were all out for 54.

Moorside were 126-run victors against Friarmere, Crossley making 72 in their 198-2 before they bowled the opposition out for 72.

Danny Anchor made 54 as Saddleworth defeated Uppermill by eight wickets, reaching 104-2 after dismissing Uppermill for 103.

Mel Austin took 5-17 as Bamford Fieldhouse bowled out Shaw for 65 before reaching their target without losing a wicket.

There was no play between Droylsden and Heyside and Hollinwood and Greenfield.

This Saturday sees Bamford Fieldhouse host Austerlands, Greenfield entertain Droylsden, Friarmere travel to Heyside, Saddleworth visit Moorside, Stayley host Hollinwood, and Uppermill entertain Shaw.
