OLDHAM RUFC's relegation fears remain acute after a 39-13 defeat at Penrith that saw them fall back into the North Two West drop zone.

The game was up by the interval with Oldham trailing 29-0.

Gordon Wilson's drop goal and a conversion from Steve Shapland's try put them comfortably ahead before a nightmare 10-minute spell for Oldham just before the break.

Ben Henderson, Alan White and a penalty try - two converted by Wilson - all giving Penrith an unassailable lead.

Oldham finally got on the scoreboard with two Brian Quinlan penalties after the restart before White notched up their sixth try on 70 minutes.

Simon Gledhill went over for a late consolation try from Dave Kenney's pass.
