'Wood pecked by Roosters

9/ 2/2005

Rotherham Roosters 24
Hollinwood 23

'WOOD had victory snatched from them in the dying stages and also lost young hooker Paul Brooks for the rest of the season with damaged ankle ligaments.

Tries from Ian Hunt, Phil Bayliss and Lee Bayliss took them in 16-16 at the break and added another after the restart from Mike Richmond.

Roosters hit back with an unconverted try before a Kevin Collins drop goal gave Wood a three-point advantage.

But with 'Wood pushed upfield they were caught out as Rotherham went in at the corner to seal a dramatic win.

Nick Hartley was man of the match with Mark Kingsley, Ian Hunt and Phil Bell also on top form.
