SAINTS ran in 10 tries in the Powergen Challenge Cup preliminary round.

With Richard Badby creating chances for his colleagues, an early scoring blitz saw tries from Chris Carter, Danny Tyrrell, Ryan Knight and Richard Badby.

David Harris and Knight were next to cross, giving Saints a 24-4 half-time lead.

The second half continued in similar vein with Jason Akeroyd, Tyrrell, Andy Sands, Knight and Kevin Fitzpatrick all going over.

Saints A were promoted into the North West Counties second division after beating Ashton Bears 20-13.

The under-eights lost eight tries to three against Pilkington Recs, but the under-11s triumphed 6-4 over Portico.
