Bibey boosting squad?

OLDHAM'S squad could be bolstered before Sunday's National Rail Cup tie against Blackpool by the addition of young St Helens prop Ricky Bibey if a proposed 12-month loan deal is agreed.

Speculation has linked the forward with a switch to the Roughyeds after only a handful of games for Saints last season.

Blackpool Panthers bring some familiar faces with former Roughyeds player-coach Steve Molloy at prop and Oldhamer Chris Hough captaining the side.

In last weekend's warm-up game, Panthers produced a stunning second-half fightback to defeat a young St Helens side 20-16.

"Blackpool have done very well pre-season and we won't underestimate them," said Mercer.

"They're very enthusiastic and it will be nice to see Steve Molloy back here. No doubt he will be trying to prove a point. That's life and that's rugby league - but I wish him well."
