It’s all gone quiet over there!

26/ 1/2005

KICK off may not be until 1.45pm on Sunday, but Oldham Athletic have already won the first challenge of the fourth-round FA Cup tie against local rivals Bolton Wanderers.

It emerged on Tuesday that while the Latics had sold their allocation of tickets without the need for any to go on open sale, the premiership club's fans have only bought 1,700.

All of this is great news for Oldham. Not only will we be the ones making all the noise on the day, it also means that 1,600 tickets returned by Bolton can now go on open sale to locals who thought they had missed out.

Following talks with local police, club officials have now been given permission to reclaim the tickets for the Rochdale Road end and sell them to Latics fans.

The tickets cost £18 for adults and £9 for concessions.
