Casey on comeback

LEO Casey is making a comeback with the Roughyeds - as an assistant to coach Gary Mercer.

The ex-Oldham forward had been linked with the vacant asisstant coach's role to Mercer when he was seen on the bench at the Barrie McDermott testimonial match between Oldham and Leeds Rhinos on Friday night.

However, it is thought he will only aid Mercer on matchdays in and around the dressing room along with Academy coach Keith Brennan.

On the field, Gavin Johnson is yet to sign a contract for the new season as he is waiting to establish his future outside the sport.
