OLDHAM and Royton Harriers' Paula Booth took 80m hurdles gold at the British Masters Track and Field Championships at Birmingham.

The club also won the North of England Inter Club Plate Competition by 46 points to reach the final.

Male winners were David Hurst (100m), Rick Mather (200m), Rob Ingham (3,000m steeplechase), Ian Hudson (high jump), and Steve Young (pole vault).

The female winners were Emily Shaw (100m), Natalie Fletcher (200m and long jump), Melanie Turner (800m), Krissy Monaghan (400m hurdles and high jump), and Marie Dixon (javelin).

Turner, Fletcher, Shaw and Helen Hudson then won the 4 x 100m relay, before Hudson, Turner, Shaw and Helen Hartshorne won the 4 x 400m event.

The club came third in their Young Athletes League match, Melanie Turner and Mike Rigby taking three events - Turner the 300m, 200m and long jump, and Rigby the shot, discus and javelin.

Reece Hendley took the 3,000m and triple jump, while Catherine McGarry won the 70m hurdles.

Sarah Heffron and Kate Hart won the 800m and 3,000m A and B events, with Laura Wrench winning the 100m and long jump, and Lucy Nolan the B 200m.

Liam Stott won the 400m and 800m before anchoring the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relay teams, while Ashley Price took the high jump.

Sam Martin won the javelin and the B high jump.
