Tottington take victory

FAILSWORTH Macedonia's first team produced a disappointing North Manchester Cricket League first division display against Tottington St John's on Saturday.

They were all out for 150 after struggling against tight and controlled bowling, before Tottington capitalised on wayward bowling to cruise home on 154-2.

The following day saw their game with Ashton Ladysmith rained out with Macedonia on course for a win.

Gary Martin hit 91 and Dave Rigney 53 as Macedonia made 169-6, but with only 16 overs left, the match was called off with Ashton on 54-3 and Macedonia heading for a restricted win.

There was better news for Macedonia's second team who gained victory against Cheetham Hill at Holt Lane.

Having been dismissed for 125, they then bowled Hill all out for 118 to secure the points.
