More of the same for Molloy

STEVE Molloy was delighted by Oldham's professionalism against Rochdale Hornets and wants more of the same against Swinton Lions at Boundary Park this Sunday (3pm).

Building on an improved display at Chorley Lynx the Roughyeds produced their best display of the season to crush their rivals 56-12.

"It was a good performance, but it's only one game and we need to achieve that consistently", Molloy said.

"What was particularly pleasing was to meet our defensive target for the second week running and to do it against a National League One side."

"But I always caution people against reading too much into one result. You can't treat this game week by week - let's see what happens over the course of the season."

"We must retain our focus for the Swinton game. Our professionalism has been excellent in the last two games and that's a marker for us now to follow."

Shoulder injury victims James Bunyan and Phil Farrell hope to be available for the busy Easter period.

Bunyan may have a cortisone injection this week while skipper Farrell awaits the nod from a specialist.

Molloy said: "Farrell's return would be a massive boost. The side have missed his presence, but Lee Marsh has done well in his position and the added competition can only be good for the squad."

Forward Gavin Johnson is also a step nearer fitness after coming through an Academy game last weekend while prop Paul Southern visits a specialist this week about his groin problems.

  • FREE transport from the social club to Boundary Park and back again is available on Sunday.
