Owls’ Euro bid

OLDHAM Owls won all their pool games to book a place as Great Britain's representatives in next month's Eurocup finals.

Owls finished top of Pool B after starting with victory over Austrian champions Conveen Sitting Bulls in Utrecht, Holland.

They raced into a 37-18 half-time lead before Conveen fought back, but Owls held out for a 72-43 win.

Dutch side Scantilope were next up as Owls had to show some defensive improvement in the final quarter to take the points with a 78-50 victory.

Owls then beat German side Heidelberg Kircheim 69-40 in the tie of the round.

The final game saw them beat Beit Halochem of Tel Aviv 86-55.

The finals take place in Madrid between April 29 and May 2 with the seven other clubs as: CD Fundosa Grupo (Spanish hosts), Santa Lucia (holders), GDS Anmie Sassari, GSD Porto Torres (both Italy), SS Heidelberg-Kircheim, RSV Lahn-Dill (both Germany) and Toulise IC (France).
