Extra games for Sheridan

4/ 2/2004

JOHN Sheridan's position as Latics' caretaker boss will be reviewed after the game with Tranmere on February 21.

Sheridan has at least three more games in charge with the club's new owners in no rush to appoint a permanent replacement for Iain Dowie.

Simon Corney said: "There have been interviews but John is doing a fantastic job in a difficult situation."

Fellow investors Simon Blitz and Danny Gazal are visiting the UK until February 13, but say that does not mean a decision will necessarily be taken before they return to the US.

Sheridan says his approach will not change after defeat at Rushden.

He said: "I'm just going to carry on and hopefully do well for the club."

"We should have won five of the games while I have been in charge."

  • JERMAINE Johnson's loan has been extended until February 28 while Latics will give trials to Everton midfielder Steve Schumacher, Oldham Town's James Curley and Nantwich Town's Wes Wilkinson.
