LATICS' new owners are football-mad mates from way back.
Simon Blitz and Danny Gazal - who both support Chelsea - have been friends since their school days and set up telecommunications company CNCG in the States.
Simon Corney - an Arsenal fan - first got to know Blitz by playing football with him 15 years ago.
Corney made a secret public debut recently playing alongside Iain Dowie and Tony Philliskirk in a Trust Oldham fundraiser at Boundary Park.
Blitz was only prevented from playing when bad weather saw his flight from New York cancelled.
Corney will soon relocate to the area, bringing his wife Keren and one-year-old son Jonah with him.
He joked: "From Manhattan to Manchester is quite a culture shock. I was concerned my son would grow up playing a daft American sport like baseball, but now I know he is safe."
