HAWKS produced a poor first-half display against York before completely dominating the second phase.

York put Hawks under early pressure and took the lead with a ninth-minute try by loose forward Langan. Hawks responded with half back pair Terri Davey and Jenny Russell and full-back Joenie Aspin looking dominant.

First, Russell sidestepped the defence to score before Aspin produced her trademark one-on-one steal to cross unopposed.

Seven minutes later, Davey put Aspin clear for her second try but some poor handling squandered further chances before York edged upfield to score their second try.

Hillside shook off their malaise immediately after the break as Davey sidestepped her way over the line and Aspin converted.

Russell then found space for her second try, converted by Aspin, before collecting from the restart and eluding winger and full-back to complete her hat-trick.

Captain Heather Biggs then crashed over for another Hawks try before Russell repeated her earlier trick, again from the kick-off. Davey and Biggs added further late tries to rap up Hawks' seventh consecutive win.

• HAWKS' under-13s beat Pendle Panthers 46-28. Tries from Amy Decourcy (four), Emily Rudge (two) and Charlotte Tetley - who also bagged five goals - helped them beat the league leaders.

Hawks are looking to increase their under-13s squad size and are looking for Year Seven and Eight girls to try the sport.

• HAWKS' under-15s beat Pendle Panthers 60-4 with their best display of the season.

Steph Hillen scored four tries and two goals while there were also tries for Sarah Molyneux, Connie Cullen, Sam Cahill (all two), Sherrie Decourcy, Emily Hinz, Alex Savage and captain Jenny Camara (one each).
