Staying unbeaten

HEYSIDE Angels’ under-14s’ yellow team were unbeaten despite playing two League Cup ties in 24 hours.

Raeanne Kaminski and Katie Royston gave them a 2-2 draw agaimst Oldham Athletic Blues on Friday before Kaminski, Emma Holroyd (two each) and Abigain Andrews netted in a 5-0 win over Curzon Ashton on Saturday.

The under-12s’ claret team defeated Curzon Ashton 4-3, Kelly Ward and Bethany Mellor (three) netting, while the navy squad lost 2-1 to Uppermill despite Jay Butler-Jones’ goal.

There were two League Cup wins for the under-11s’ navy team, Kayleigh Larkin (three), Danielle Partington (two) and Georgia Anwas giving them a 6-0 victory against Oldham Athletic, followed by an 11-1 defeat of Heyside’s white team.

Larkin, Paige Rowland, Leoni Harland, Sophie Montgomery (two each), Anwas, Oliver and Sophie Chester netted for the navy team, Hayley Tomlinson scoring for the white squad who had earlier suffered a 2-0 reverse against Chadderton Park.

Heyside’s under-10s’ white team also did the double, beating Moston Valley 2-0 thanks to Tanishia Williams and Hannah Smedley, before Jade Hughes’ double gave them victory by the same score against Curzon Ashton.

The navy team had mixed fortunes, beating Curzon Ashton 3-0 with Molly Taylor (two) and Alicia Stretton finding the net, before losing 2-0 against Oldham Athletic.
