NINE tries saw Saddleworth Rangers emerge victorious when they faced the United Arab Emirates in the first rugby league match played in Dubai.
The Shaw Hall Bank Road men recorded a 52-36 win against the home side, made up of locals as well as expat Brits and Australians.
Rangers overcame temperatures of 38 degrees centigrade at the Emirates Stadium to take the honours by way of tries from Steven Nield, Emerson Jackman (two each), Adam Jeffries, Gareth Davies, Adam Kirwin, Michael Coates and Jimmy Rogers. Coates added eight goals.
