Hamilton joy as trio sign on

OLDHAM chairman Chris Hamilton pronounced himself a happy man after the club signed three players this week.

Monday saw the announcement of Alan Hadcroft's signature for 2006 from Halifax, while Tuesday and Wednesday brought the resignings of Ian Hodson and Jimmy Kirkland.

All three agreed one-year deals, although Hadcroft has the option of a second year.

Mr Hamilton said: "He's a player we've been trying to get for a couple of years and we're delighted that we have managed to do it.

"Ian made a big difference when he arrived with Houghy (Chris Hough) and I think you'd say those two were the most influential players over the second half of the season. We're hoping for more of the same next year".

• THE Oldham Rugby League Heritage Trust and Rugby Oldham will be staging an event at the Clayton Arms on November 24.

It will be to announce new inductees into the Roughyeds' Hall of Fame, as well as update supporters on Rugby Oldham's progress.

Details of the inductees will appear in next week's Advertiser.
