Hamilton rallies supporters

31/ 8/2005

OLDHAM chairman Chris Hamilton is asking for supporters to turn up at Boundary Park on Sunday and help the Roughyeds in their fight to avoid relegation.

Only one point off a relegation play-off spot after their capitulation against Batley last time out, Oldham face bottom club Barrow in the hope safety can be secured.

Mr Hamilton said: "Obviously it's our last home game of the season and we need a win, so it would be nice to see a few people down there on Sunday. The players are certainly keen to make up for their last performance."

Jon Goddard is doubtful for Sunday with the shin injury sustained against Batley while Mark Roberts, Gavin Dodd and Paul Norman are doubts, although the latter pair are expect to play. Dana Wilson is out while Danny Nanyn is expected to be in contention.

Nanyn, James Kirkland, Andy Gorey and Adam Sharples were offered new deals before the August 31 deadline that would have prevented them being available under the Bosman ruling.
