Advice for supporters

24/ 9/2008

THE Roughyeds have issued advice to supporters travelling to Warrington for Sunday’s Co-operative National League Two Grand Final against Doncaster.

A large crowd is expected for the triple-header, which starts with the Conference final at 11am and ends with the National League One final which is due to kick-off at 4pm.

Spectators are being warned that they will not be allowed to take alcohol into the Halliwell Jones Stadium, but can buy it from the bars inside, which close half-an-hour before the Salford-Celtic Crusaders match.

The list of banned items also includes fireworks, smoke canisters, knives, bottles, glasses, air horns, klaxons and whistles.

A limited number of turnstiles will open at 10.30am with all turnstiles fully operational from 1pm, but there will be no pass outs and movement from one stand to another is prohibited.

Organisers are also pointing out that there is a total ban on smoking once fans are inside the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

There are various public car parks within easy walking distance, while there are 30 on-site parking spaces for disabled supporters which must be pre-booked by contacting the RFL on 0870 990 1313.

However, there is also a controlled parking zone nearby to ensure local residents are not inconvenienced.

Any motorist parking illegally in that area will be fined, while anyone caught using Tesco’s car park adjacent to the stadium will be fined £50.

  • THE Roughyeds’ ticket office will be open from 9am to 7pm until Friday.
