Discount offer for Hawks opener on Easter Monday

19/ 3/2008

THE Roughyeds are offering reduced admission for supporters attending Easter Monday’s Co-operative National League Two match with Hunslet Hawks.

One adult and one child can gain admission to Boundary Park for the discounted price of £7 – a saving of £11 on normal prices – by producing a special voucher.

Those vouchers are available from the club office at Lansdowne Road, Chadderton, local amateur clubs, the Multisportz shop at Shaw Road, Oldham, as well as at several shops and businesses across the town which are displaying posters advertising the game.

The vouchers can be redeemed for match tickets provided they are filled in and either returned to the office before 5pm on Thursday, or presented at the Boundary Park ticket office between noon and 2.30pm on Monday, ahead of the kick-off at 3pm.

Monday will see tenor Laurence Robinson perform for the crowd prior to kick-off.

He has sung at various venues around the UK and was part of the welcome party when England’s rugby union team arrived at Heathrow Airport following their successful 2003 World Cup campaign.

His rugby league appointments have included Test matches, Challenge Cup finals at Murrayfield and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, as well as Super League Grand Finals at Old Trafford.

"We want to make our first home game in the new league season a little bit special, and Laurence will help us to do that," said the club’s community development manager Sean Mellor.

Robinson also performed at the last game at Warrington’s old Wilderspool ground and the first game at their new Halliwell Jones Stadium.

  • THE Roughyeds will start the new season as odds-on favourites to top National League Two outright at the end of the regular campaign.

They are quoted at 4/5 with Skybet or at even money with bet365.
